Then they said, “Come! Let’s build ourselves a city with a tower whose top reaches into heaven. So let’s make a name for ourselves, or else we will be scattered over the face of the whole land.”

Genesis 11.4

The first level of egoistic development is marked by what we allegorically call “building of the Tower of Babel.” In the story of Babel, you may recall, people, out of increased egoism, aspired to reach the Creator, allegorically described as wanting to build a tower whose head reaches the sky.

Image result for Matthew 24:37For just as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. So said Mashiyach Yahoshua ben Yoseph to his taught ones in response to their inquiry about the signs of His return and the end of the age. When considering the conditions that were present during the days of Noah, what is brought to the surface for the disciples of Messiah Yahoshua are matters that have apparently crossed the barriers of time and space. It stands to reason that each generation from the days of Noah should have and now must seriously consider just what the state of affairs are in order to presently know and discern the signs of the time for each respective age. Given the analysis of the signs and times, the evidence that appears in relation to each time period presents profound parallels that requires one to ponder the prophetic purposes of the Most High in the affairs of humanity on earth. The most foreboding sign to analyze, for all intents and purposes, is that of humanity, and particularly the children of Israel who, according to the prophet Zechariah, as companions of the high priest, are men of sign.

With this week’s sidrah Noah we are informed about the days before and following the great flood, which makes it clear that bloodshed and violence were commonplace occurrences on Earth during both dispensations. Not only was violence present, however, but there also existed a rampant materialism and idolatry which were hallmarks of this new bustling urban metropolis called Babel/Bablyon by the Torah. In fact, it is said that the modern Western construct of capitalism has its roots in the mystery system of ancient Babylon. Considered by many to be the world’s first civilization, it was in the location of Sumer, or Mesopotamia, that this profligate, apostate society took root in the world. Here is where the first rebellion of humanity, following the flood, took place under the direction of Nimrod, son of Kush, also known as Sargon I. Of this identification of these two individuals as one, Douglas Petrovich writes in his 2013 work Identifying Nimrod of Genesis 10 with Sargon of Akkad by Exegetical and Archaeological Means, that

The evidence for this connection consists of five arguments that were presented and supported:
(1) Sargon’s geograph
ical origin of Kish may be associated with Nimrod’s genealogical origin of Cush.
(2) Both Sargon and Nimrod were credited with bringing Akkad into prominence.
(3) Both Sargon and Nimrod were involved in initial building projects in Assyria.
(4) Both Sargon and Nimrod had a lasting influence related to Assyria.
(5) Both
Sargon and Nimrod were legendary for their military exploits and brutality.
The detailed evidence presented for each of these arguments leads the objec
tive student of the Bible and ANE history to the inescapable conclusion that Sargon is not only the best candidate for historical Nimrod, but the proper candidate. The biography of Sargon of Akkad, recently illuminated by the discovery and publication of inscriptional and material cultural evidence provided by epigraphy and archaeology, matches that of Nimrod perfectly. The divine and human authors of the Bible, knowing that Israel soon would be a monarchy, provided this vivid picture of how far a king or kingdom could stray from God if given over to the lust for power.

The tale of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel, as we will discover in the course of this writing, is one which shows the end result of the consequence of being ego-driven as opposed to spirit-led; it is a constant reminder to humanity of what becomes of man who elevates himself and operates outside of the will of the Most High. So with this perspective set firmly in our sights, let us set out to examine, therefore, how the nature of humanity has caused the spirit of Babel to continue to proliferate and what the elect must do in order to negate, and ultimately destroy, the rebellious offensive of those with reprobate mind.

From last week’s parashat we read the following,

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of Elohim came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, the men of name.

Genesis 6.4

As is revealed from both scriptural and extra-scriptural sources, the days preceding the flood were marked by wanton behaviors which provoked the angst of heaven. When considering the root cause for this aberration, though we find Adam and Chawwah mainly responsible for the disturbance, it was ultimately Qayin and his descendents who caused the rebellion of man to spread. It was from this group of souls on earth, created after the image and likeness of one who was banished from Nod and marked with a curse, that the Nephilim, or fallen, entered and created the Giants, or tyrants, of old. This rebellion was led by Yubal, or Genun, son of Lamech, son of Cain, who was used to mislead the children of Israel. Of this, it is said that

When Satan failed after many efforts of seduction to drag the Sethites down with him, he picked on the youth, Genun, as a composte of Jubal, Jabal and Tubal-Cain and Naamah who are all connected with the magic of musical sound used to enchant. Through the ministry of Jubal and his musical worship teams, Satan finally suceeded. The serpent in Genesis was the symbol of Bablonia and is defined by Hebrew words which follow a trail to musical instruments and soothsaying.

Genun – Jubal – Musical Worship

From here is where the biblical story of the Nephilim takes shape. While many assume that this act of the Nephilim refers to celestial beings having intercourse with humanity, it was, in fact, the descendants of Seth, son of Adam, who became known as the fallen for their willing descent into lower levels of lasciviousness. In the Old Testament Pseudapigraphical text of the Second Book of Adam and Eve, we find this witness recorded;

After this a hundred men of the children of Seth gathered together, and said among themselves, “Come, let us go down to the children of Cain, and see what they do, and enjoy ourselves with them.” But when Jared heard this of the hundred men, his very soul was moved, and his heart was grieved. He then arose with great fervour, and stood in the midst of them, and adjured them by the blood of Abel the just, “Let not one of you go down from this holy and pure mountain, in which our fathers have ordered [u]s to dwell.” But when Jared saw that they did not receive his words, he said unto them, “O my good and innocent and holy children, know that when once you go down from this holy mountain, [Elohim] will not allow you to return again to it.” He again adjured them, saying, “I adjure by the death of our father Adam, and by the blood of Abel, of Seth, of Enos, of Cainan, and of Mahalaleel, to hearken to me, and not to go down from this holy mountain; for the moment you leave it, you will be reft of life and of mercy; and you shall no longer be called ‘children of [Elohim],’ but ‘children of the devil.'” But they would not hearken to his words.

Image result for higher vs lower consciousnessWith these words we read of the chosen’s absconding from the pure and set-apart nature according to which they were chosen to live by for a life based more in the egoistic, sensual desires. This descent, symbolically alluded to in their going down the mountain to the valley, parallels the lowering of consciousness from the crown chakra to the root chakra. We’ve discussed how this is also a matter of heeding the reptilian brain, which then silences the mind of the neo-cortex which ultimately connects humanity with the divine intellect and perception, which is our original image and likeness. This likeness becomes distorted and hidden when one operates according to their own personal dictates and not that of the blueprint of creation; the Torah. It is then that the spirit being, our original nature and consciousness, becomes encased in what we have identified as the qeliphot, and we become a mere shadow of our true selves. In this, we experience a spiritual death and are separated from the Source of life that emanates throughout existence. And though the activities of this lower vibration of consciousness manifests on the physical plane, it is an undeniable spiritual condition at its root.

It is well comprehended by those with spiritual consciousness that everything in existence has its source in the world of spirit. This is evident from the process of creation to manifestation. Thought, in fact, is a spiritual energy that serves as the impetus of action in every realm of being. It was when thoughts are aligned with the consciousness of existence, which Israel identifies as יהוה‎, that the reality and heights of life are experienced. Conversely, it is when this connection is broken that one then becomes estranged from life and enters an illusory realm where the ego becomes all powerful in this new distorted perception of the mind. This is what took place at the tower of Babel.

Spearheaded by Nimrod, the grandson of Noah, son of Ham, the undertaking of the Tower of Babel came to embody the new world’s rebellion against the righteous and selfless principles of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Inflated by an over compensated idea of self, the cooperation and unity of the wayward souls willing to contribute to erecting an illusory life, symbolized by the tower, which they were led to firmly believed was capable of reaching heaven according to their own efforts and will, ultimately ended in a dismal failure. Their efforts, however, also included redefining themselves according to their own perceptions, which was the result of their rejection of the Creator’s sovereignty in, for and over their lives. Refusing to adjust to the signs that were given to them, indicative of their wicked blindness, the people continued to erect this structure which has come down through history as the absolute abandonment and emboldened affront to the Kingdom of יהוה‎. This abandonment and affront is described in a book entitled The Secrets of the Eternal Book, which informs us that

This phenomenon of man refusing to correct himself and seeking to dominate Nature instead is what’s referred to as “building the Tower of Babel.” Since the days of Babylon, our egos have been gradually developing until they have reached their peak. Humanity has become disillusioned with its ability to satiate its own ego via technological or any other kind of progress. Today we are beginning to realize that this whole journey of ours was trekked in vain. Due to the crisis and the dead end we find ourselves in, you could say that the ruin of the Tower of Babel is happening before our very eyes. Now all we need is to make the right choice. After all, haven’t we made enough bad choices and suffered for it?

Image result for three unclean spirits as frogs in revelation 16As prophesied by Messiah Yahoshua, today, as we approach the coming of the Son of Adam, the world continues to be ran amuck in materialism and violence as mystery Babylon is continuing to deceive people into joining the rebellion against the Kingdom of  יהוה. This rebellion is being led by the three unclean spirits as frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, beast and false prophet mentioned in the sixteenth chapter of Revelation; the dragon has been revealed as Zionist Judaism, the beast as Christendom and and false prophet as Islam. These three world religions form what is now known as Mystery Babylon. So as the world is becoming more and more immersed in these wicked waters, the need for an ark of salvation has become all the more imperative for the righteous remnant of humanity. And while the Scriptures inform us that there is a geographic reality to what is known as the doctrine of salvation by location, there is also a needed focus for the redeemed to individually and collectively understand the essential necessity of being delivered from the clutches of sin and death to experience the redemption. These clutches are what is known, according to Scripture, as the secret of lawlessness; a deceptive and cynical spirit that has continued to assail humanity and lead them into the depths of darkness, delusion and destruction. Predicated on pride, it is this self-absorbed and self-centered disposition that has tilted the earth beyond its axis and caused a marked distortion in the rotation of the planet as a result of humanity’s spiritual imbalance. Of this secret, Rav Shaul writes to his beloved disciple Timothy warning him of the rebellion that had been underway and has continued to reap havoc among the household of faith, encouraging him to

Let no one deceive you in any way, because the falling away is to come first, and the man of lawlessness is to be revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Elohim or that is worshiped, so that he sits as Elohim in the Dwelling Place of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim. Do you not remember that I told you this while I was still with you? And now you know what restrains, for him to be revealed in his time. For the secret of lawlessness is already at work – only until he who now restrains comes out of the midst. And then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Master shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth and bring to naught with the manifestation of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order for them to be saved. And for this reason Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood, in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.

                                                                                                                            2 Timothy 2.3-12

It is this deliberate and rebellious shift of consciousness from heaven to earth that has embarked humanity on a fruitless and vain trek straight to the lake of fire and the second death. It is certain and beyond all reasonable doubt that everything that originates with the ego and the flesh ends with the ego and the flesh, and that there is no afterlife or reward for the selfish who live to gratify their desires and fulfill their ambitions. It is this spirit which we expose and connect with the great ruler of Babylon who has intended to do such exploits from his earliest beginnings, that we must wage continuous war against by resisting the impulses within and overcoming those who confederate with this great rebellious spirit which is the archenemy of the Mighty Power of Israel. Of this spirit that was made manifest in Nimrod which spread throughout his kingdom after the days of the flood, Dr. Daniel Woodhead, quoting the historian Josephus, tells us that

“…it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of [Elohim]. He was the grandson of Ham the son of Noah. He was a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to [Elohim], as if it was through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage, which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of [Elohim], but to bring them into a constant dependence on his power…(Antiquities of the Jews Chapter 4:2)” The Tower of Babel was in essence an attempt to have their own way apart from [Elohim]. Humans were commanded to “Be fruitful and fill the earth.” Instead they attempted to settle down in one location and establish a world state to offset the divine rule. The tower was meant to be a rebellious attempt to break from divine rule. They did not wish to obey [Elohim].

And so now here we are, some 4000 years after this great offense made by man, standing in the same shadows that once covered the earth in deep darkness and despair. Largely unchanged and unevolved over this great span of time, human nature apparently remains an ego-filled black hole, capable of consuming the entire world into oblivion with one massive gulp. Highlighted by cynicism and  greed, this force was epitomized in this week’s parashat as Nimrod, the rebel and mighty hunter before Elohim. But when we consider the story in its full scope, it is the spirit of an age which when left unchecked, spreads throughout humanity like a epidemic plague. It is in this spirit that majority of humans on earth now dastardly operate.

As a rejection of the upper spiritual force of heaven and the higher consciousness of the cognition, it is a function of the flesh on a surface level and a brain process at its most base order that has arrested the development of human nature which was intended to go from a beast to a child of Elohim. The only resolution to this conundrum, however, is for one to become completely selfless in their nature by taking on the spirit of altruism which inspires one and all to provide a heartfelt service and hospitality to other souls  embarking on the self same journey from nescience to awareness. We see this introduced at the end of this week’s reading with the birth of Terah’s son Abram, who later is called Abraham by יהוה‎. With his birth, the true light of life re-enters the world and a Messianic deliverer appears on the stage to reacquaint the estranged children of heaven to their Father and King. His energy was used to correct the distortion and perturbations of the ego, harmonizing the body and soul with the true power of the Spirit. This was done, we will see, by surrendering, submitting and sacrificing the self unto the Most High by remaining faithful to the Torah. Herein lies the solution to the problems derived from the Tower of Babel which have come down through the ages to us at this very moment.

The confusion that arose in the plains of Shinar in the place called Babylon when the messengers of heaven came to halt the erection of the wicked tower has continually reared its head throughout time. For it is only in returning to the original consciousness of Eden when we were naked and unashamed, selfless and service centered, that we will be able to overcome the rebellion launched by Nimrod against the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Then we will be able to finally turn off the confusion of Babel and freely be able to fulfill the sovereign command given to the son of Terah in next week’s reading, as we are prophetically told in our day and age to

Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. Because her sins have piled up to reach the heaven, and Elohim has remembered her unrighteousnesses. Render to her as she indeed did render, and repay her double according to her works. In the cup which she has mixed, mix for her double. s much as she esteemed herself and lived riotously, so much torture and grief give to her, because in her heart she says, ‘I sit as sovereigness, and I am not a widow, and I do not see mourning at all.’ Because of this her plagues shall come in one day: death and mourning and scarcity of food. And she shall be burned up with fire, because יהוה Elohim who judges her is mighty.
