Dedication – Dave Chappelle: spoke with James Lipton for Inside the Actors Studio in 2006. During the interview, Chappelle shared insights on the dismissive and “sick” culture within Hollywood, which allowed for many celebrities to be dismissed as being “crazy”. He spoke about how destructive Hollywood culture can be, and used a 1996 incident where Bad Boys star Martin Lawrence’s 1996 ran into the streets of Los Angeles with a loaded gun as an example. Chappelle said Lawrence “made me feel inspired” any time that he was successful, but there was a dark side to his success. He explained that Lawrence had a stroke and almost died while the pair were promoting their movie Blue Streak. After that, Chappelle said Lawrence told him “I got the best sleep I ever got in my life” as a result of being hospitalised. He continued: “So let me ask you this: What is happening in Hollywood that a guy that tough will be on the street, waving a gun, screaming ‘they are trying to kill me’? “What’s going on? Why is Dave Chappelle going to Africa? “Why is Mariah Carey making a $100m deal and then taking her clothes off on TRL? “A weak person cannot get to sit here and talk to you – ain’t no weak people talking to you. “So what is happening in Hollywood? Nobody knows. “The worst thing to call somebody is crazy. It’s dismissive. “I don’t understand this person so they’re crazy. That’s bulls**t. “People are not crazy, they’re strong people. Maybe the environment is a little sick.”
Perspective: “For more than a century, ideological extremists, at either end of the political spectrum, have seized upon well-publicized incidents, such as my encounter with Castro, to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal, working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists,’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. It has certainly enabled me to trace the origin of the so-called “Neo-Conservatives” that shape his policies, right back to its founder, Irving Kristol who admits to having been an avowed follower of Leon Trotsky. 137 Tavistock remains the mother of all research facilities connected with behavior modifications, opinion making and shaping of political events. What Tavistock did was to create a “black hole of deception in the 20th century.” Its task would have been made a great deal more difficult had it not been for the prostitution of the media and its role in disseminating “the gospel according to George Orwell.” Lord Northcliffe the chief of Tavistock’s predecessor, Wellington House, had been a media mogul and at one stage went so far as to ship thousands of copies of his Daily Mail to France each week and then have them delivered by a fleet of motor trucks to British troops at the front lines, “to win their hearts and minds in support of the war” (WWI). As one of the principal research institutions directly controlled by Tavistock, Rand runs our ICBM program, does prime analyses for U.S. foreign policy makers, and advises on nuclear policies, does hundreds of projects for the C.I. Predictive Programming by Dahria Beaver OSU School of Arts and Sciences: “Predictive Programming is theory that the government or other higher-ups are using fictional movies or books as a mass mind control tool to make the population more accepting of planned future events. This was first described and proposed by researcher Alan Watt who defines Predictive programming as “Predictive programming is a subtle form of psychological conditioning provided by the media to acquaint the public with planned societal changes to be implemented by our leaders. If and when these changes are put through, the public will already be familiarized with them and will accept them as natural progressions, thus lessening possible public resistance and commotion.” (Wood) Then it was popularized by Alex Jones and David Icke. The most notable cases of predictive programing are the examples found in the Simpsons, The Dark Night Rises, The Hunger Games, and the oldest being from Futility. Information can be found on blog posts and many conspiracy theorists have either made videos on it or have spoken on the subject.
People who believe in this theory are mostly conspiracy theorists who think there will be a totalitarian government takeover, or on the more mild side, theorists who believe tragic events are an inside job or completely fake. David Icke proposed that the Sandy Hook shooting was predicted in the Dark Night Rises because Sandy Hook is shown on the map in one of the scenes. (Wood) While I was looking for more information on the motives behind the government participating in predictive programming I found that most commonly people believe the government creates a problem so the population will look to the government for a solution. However, because the government planned for the crisis the government will offer a solution that has been planned long before the crisis ever happened. Alan Watt, along with many others, believe a desired outcome is created through the power of suggestion in media. (Wood) This theory is still very popular today because any huge event can be seemingly traced back to cartoon or movie that was fortunate enough to predict it.
Predictive programming at its core is a tactic to reduce resistance by introducing concepts that seem far fetched and continuously reintroducing them to make these concepts appear more likely or at the very least acceptable. As always there is a reason why movies and television are used as the common vessel. When watching something a person typically perceives it as entertainment and their theoretical guard will be lowered and the subliminal messages will be directly go to the subconscious. It also is used as a sort of self fulfilling prophecy because once an expectation is created then when these events start to happen the population may seem more likely to accept the fate. There is also a control of imagination because the most commonly used tool in predictive programming is science fiction, by creating these stories the author can create boundaries of imagination and slowly show what may happen. (The Coincidence Theorist) As mentioned before one example of this is Futility. This is a book from 1898 that shared the story of a fictional ship named Titan that was deemed unsinkable and ended up crashing into an iceberg. With a similar description and fate this novel is seen as outlining the fate of the Titanic to create an acceptance among people for when the Titanic truly sank…”

“The US government and Hollywood have always been close. Washington DC has long been a source of intriguing plots for filmmakers and LA has been a generous provider of glamour and glitz to the political class. But just how dependant are these two centres of American influence? Scrutiny of previously hidden documents reveals that the answer is: very. We can now show that the relationship between US national security and Hollywood is much deeper and more political than anyone has ever acknowledged.
It is a matter of public record that the Pentagon has had an entertainment liaison office since 1948. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) established a similar position in 1996. Although it was known that they sometimes request script changes in exchange for advice, permission to use locations, and equipment such as aircraft carriers, each appeared to have passive, and largely apolitical roles. On television, we found over 1,100 titles received Pentagon backing – 900 of them since 2005, from Flight 93 to Ice Road Truckers to Army Wives.
When we include individual episodes for long running shows like 24, Homeland, and NCIS, as well as the influence of other major organisations like the FBI and White House, we can establish unequivocally for the first time that the national security state has supported thousands of hours of entertainment. For its part, the CIA has assisted in 60 film and television shows since its formation in 1947. This is a much lower figure than the DoD’s but its role has nonetheless been significant.
